An excerpt
from Daddy Doesn't Call It Incest
"When did the
incest start?"
Paula didn't turn
around. "Daddy doesn't call it 'incest,'" she said matter-of-factly.
"He calls it 'family love.'"
"When did the
'family love' start?" Doctor Fraser asked.
The teenager turned
to answer, but saw, thru the small window, an older man, in his early
forties, mustache and glassesvery attractive. "I don't know,"
she said.
"As long as you
can remember?" asked the psychiatrist.
"I have to go
to the bathroom," Paula lied. Out
in the hall, she approached the older man. "You look familiar,"
she said. "Do you have a daughter my age, about seventeen?"
she asked.
The man laughed. "No,
no. I'm afraid not."
"Maybe I've just
seen you here before," she said. "Do you work here?" She
flashed a smile again, pretty as could be, and so very innocent.
"Well, yes,"
he said, "just down the hall. PritchardMichael Pritchard."
"Oh," Paula
said demurely. "Nice to know. I'm Paula."
